Erik brings over 20 years of legal and business experience, including top-tier Finnish attorneys-at-law firms, private entrepreneurship, as well as establishing and leading in-house legal & compliance functions spanning both the private and public sectors. Prior to joining Vestra, Erik worked for an international deep tech quantum technology company, where he acted as General Counsel and later as Director of Risk Management.
Holding IAPP CIPP/E and CIPM certifications, Erik specializes in tech, privacy, and real estate law. His foundational studies in Computer Science at the University of Helsinki, combined with a passion for IT, provide him with a practical and business-oriented approach to technology. Additionally, Erik has a strong background in enterprise risk management, business continuity and crisis management, trade compliance & sanctions, and governance. Known for his proactive and pragmatic style and acting as a member of leadership teams and leading in-house legal & compliance functions, he has advised senior leadership and built internal processes that enable sustainable growth and resilience.
