Numbers, numbers… - so inspiring!
It is now 3 ½ years since we launched Vestra Advisors in the middle of the covid pandemia - not knowing how the world would adapt and how to manage business relations with limited possibilities of personal interaction. Top this with the Russian aggressions, skyrocketing energy prices and an aggressive inflation - all having a substantial impact on business activities and the future has been a bit uncertain, to say the least.
Having this in mind, I’m really proud of what we have accomplished. In our fourth year of business, we are already targeting revenues in excess of 5 million euros and have been able to gather a team of 28 excellent lawyers with a highly pragmatic approach to solving legal issues. Earlier this year we added to our offering a skilled and experienced team of three family lawyers, which in addition to its own practice has interesting interfaces with our business legal offering.
Our M&A and financing team has not been actively publishing our individual engagements in M&A and financing transactions, so I decided to do some research on what we have been up to in this practice group since our establishment.
During the last 3 ½ years we have been involved in
More than 100 fund formations, in most of which we have represented Finnish limited partners investing in funds located outside Finland;
More than 130 financing rounds (including bridge rounds), representing both investors and target companies;
More than 80 M&A deals, with our focus being in the small and medium-sized domestic market; and
Of all financing rounds and fund formation projects, more than 40 % have been cross-border representing Finnish professional investors investing abroad.
Taking into account our efficient ways of working and focus on single investments, as well as the small & medium sized clientele, we do not generate billions in revenues despite the large number of transactions we are trusted with. My educated guess is that we are one of the most used advisors in both direct and fund investments from Finland abroad.
Did you know that we have also been engaged to represent non-Finnish clients investing outside Finland? Quite an outlier but we take this as solid international recognition.
